“The hotel is very well run and the hosts are very helpful. The rooms are a decent size. Although it took a while for the water to warm up in the shower. I acknowledge that this is beyond the owner’s control, but my second floor room overlooked a junction and the traffic was noisy . At about 4am a lorry collected the empty glass bottles. The noise of the crash as the glass shattered was shocking. Avoid a roadside room on a Wednesday morning….if you want undisturbed sleep.”

“Room was very clean and well presented, with all expected facilities. Plenty of parking and welcoming staff. Breakfast provision was not clear when booking but was available to purchase each morning. The menu suggested that continental breakfast was included in the price of all cooked breakfasts but it was not evident. Breakfast was a good portion size and very tasty. Evening meals available at a discounted price and were very filling. These was some evidence of a historic water leak in...

“Honestly this was the MOST perfect stay for a new forest adventure. i cannot tell you how special this place is you just need to go an experience it for yourself. Special shout out to ALL the staff, they were just as perfect as the room was. thank you thank you thank you. it was a dream.”

“Fue un poco diferente a lo esperado, la habitación era minuscula, desde ventana solo veiamos el tejado del bar y teniamos la salida de humos delante. Habia arañas por todas partes, la cama se inclinava hacia el cabezero. Tuvimos que dormir en los pies. De los pies de la cama a la paret habia 10 cm. Con mucha humedad. Es un lugar para nada recomendable. El almuerzo era acceptable. ”

“I have just stayed at The Fighting Cocks for the weekend. Unfortunately we choose the weekend of the A31 closure and the New Forest fires! Resulting in a lot of traffic passing the pub. Not their fault. The staff were very helpful and friendly the room was great, clean and comfortable and breakfast was included and really tasty. We had an evening meal on the Saturday which was ample and reasonably priced. All in all a great little stop over.”
