“The room was lovely and clean, bed was comfortable and the shower was amazing. The WiFi throughout was good enough to stream tv and the restaurant was great. We had dinner and breakfast and couldn’t fault either. If we are back in the area we would define stay again.”

“I didn't like the amount of stairs because our bags were heavy (2 week trip) woth multiple stays. Also, a key from the front desk was necessary in order to access the pool. The location, however was very nice. Right in the square and walkable to food, shopping etc.”

“Beautiful property in the grounds of Greystoke Castle. Idyllic. The hostess was very welcoming and showed us round the room. Everything is well thought out, even provided a torch to use if you are out late. Welcome fruit and water in the fridge in the room and an extensive choice of hot drinks available to make. Fresh milk available in the room too. Very comfortable stay and wide choice of food for breakfast all freshly prepared.”

“Upon arrival at the gueshouse (an hour early, our mistake), the door opened and we were faced with a rude, angry woman, whom we assumed was the host. She told us we could not come in and only after a bit of pleading, she allowed us to leave our luggage in the front entry. After speaking to a Carlisle business owner who was familiar with her, and looking up recent reviews, we decided to look for other accommodations. “We stayed one night at the hotel The restaurant was very nice and we both enjoyed our meals there , both dinner and breakfast. the room we booked was a superior room, we were a little surprised to find 2 bunkers in the room (as well as the king bed) but it was quite spacious in the room so it was ok.”
