I paid for a “City View Small Studio,” but we were given a room in the basement instead. The hotel receptionist told us that Expedia needed to update the room descriptions and that they couldn’t change our room because all the other rooms were reserved. The floor was also dirty and extremely slippery, possibly because the room was in the basement and the AC was running. I would definitely recommend confirming the room type and location directly with the hotel before booking through Expedia, especially if the room view or floor matters to you.

Our room refrigerator did not cool. I informed the desk the next morning, and someone worked on it. But it went out again that night. The next day — our third and final — it was replaced. The new one worked great. Only one of the main elevators was working. The two at the end of the first-floor hall were supposed to be available, but sometimes when I tried, each wouldn't go to my floor (17). Essentially there was only one reliable elevator, a small one, and a lot of people going up and down.

The biggest strength of this hotel is its location in midtown for a relatively inexpensive price. The location is great. The hotel added a $40/night "destination charge" so the advertised price is misleading. The rooms are ordinary with no amenities at all, not even a coffee pot. The staff is friendly and mostly efficient. My room was clean and quiet, the air conditioning worked very well and I could control the temperature. I had a good experience.
