Vacations Close To Cape Hatteras National Seashore

Location was good. Hotel was clean. Front desk was very welcoming. My balcony was partial to oceanfront. In the near future I would choose a higher floor, so I don’t hear the outside traffic. Other than that it was great!

Room was not ready upon arrival. Could not check in until after 5 pm, even though I did a pre check in and it stated that the room was ready. Staff said they would contact me when it was ready but I had to go back in and see was it ready.

The room wasn't very clean and smelled bad. The bathroom fan didn't work. Ice machine on our floor didn't work. We had to get blankets as they didn't leave them in the room. The microwave had a molding sandwich in it. Over all we stayed because we had reservations but we will not be back and will not recommend. The door needed repairs so you had to go through the restaurant on a wet slippery floor from the beach. The staff was okay but not really very nice.

The view and deck were amazing! Honestly, this was why I chose this hotel. The staff were very friendly and made me feel welcomed. Having the door locked after 9 PM made me feel safer. However, the hotel was a little rundown. The carpet should be replaced with a hard surface, and the shower, including the loud fan, could use some attention. The bed was noisy due to the weak platform that rattled when you moved.

Property was great, room was nice and clean.

Breakfast options were very limited.

I was so excited to stay here, initially. The pictures online were absolutely beautiful. When we arrived, the check in process was quick. However, I was told they needed to add two holds of $50 since I stayed for two nights. I have never heard that before. usually, its a flat fee and not based on how many nights you stay. Weird. When I got into the room, the first thing I did was pull the curtains back and was greeted with dead flies and I'm assuming bird... stuff on the window. We had family stop by to greet us and they went to look at our view through the window, and it was plain embarrassing all of that on the window. I wanted to use the spa amenities but the staff member I inquired through as rude and there for I did not try any of it. Just rubbed me the wrong way. I took my niece for a walk to see the lake and the entire trail had geese poop throughout whole thing. I know they cannot help what nature does but the concrete trail can at least be power washed occasionally. Our phones had a hard time keeping a signal when not connected to their wifi. The tv would show crazy wiggly signal when we tried watching movies. We won't return for another stay but I guess it could have been worse
