“Abbey House is a really good hotel - one of our favourites. The building and its settings are very impressive and very well kept. All members of staff that we met and dealt with were friendly, helpful and cheerfully efficient. This hotel really does deserve to succeed. The only minor fault was in the restaurant where the service could be slow and the waiting staff not quite as attentive as they might be. “We have enjoyed a fantastic 2 night stay, the location was spot on only 2 minutes to Lake Windermere and the ferry landing point. Colin is the perfect host, very attentive, knowledgeable of the area and looked after us well. Breakfast was a lovely; full English in a cosy setting. The room was fine with all amenities. It was our birthdays whilst there and Colin decorated the room, these touches are most appreciated. Definitely recommend 10/10”
