“the Barge is a pub with accomodation in a very good location, about 10 minutes walk from the town centre. Although the staff are welcoming and the room was clean, the overall appearance of the pub is that it is shabby and run down. The carpet on the staircase leading to the bedrooms was grubby and had a large hole in it. outside the garden furniture has seen better days and there is a canopy which has come adrift from its fixings and been lashed to the outside bar. “BED BUGS!!!!!! Room 9 infefected with BED BUGS!! Bitten alive staying in room No9! AVOID I reported this expecting the hotel to take it seriously, deep clean the room, and protect future guests. Unfortunately, the response was shocking. Receptionist, couldnt care less, said unsure what the policy is and someone would call me back. 1x week later no phone call or communication. Called back again, receptionist this time did apologise, but said the duty manager is very busy with event this weekend...
