Our stay at Hilton Garden Inn Denver Union Station was one of the worst hotel experiences we have ever had. The AC sounded like a cannon going off throughout the night. I ran into a maintenance man who said, “Yeah, it’s loud,” and offered to come check it. We eventually got tired of waiting and gave up. The beds were horrible. They felt old, worn out, and completely broken down. We also asked for extra pillows and were told they would send up four, two for each of us. We only received one extra pillow each. The noise was another major issue. I could hear people talking through the wall, phone alarms going off, and all kinds of other noises throughout the night. We got almost no sleep. My friend slept with a pillow over her head all three nights, but that is not an option for me because I am too claustrophobic. The curtains also do not close all the way, so sleeping in is basically impossible because the room gets bright early in the morning. There was also a problem with the incidental charges. We were charged an incidental amount at check in, which I understand is normal and would not have been an issue on its own. However, we were also charged another $50 per night incidental amount at check out after we had already returned our room keys. This was never clearly explained to us. If there are two separate charges or an additional $50 per night charge, that should be clearly communicated at check in so guests understand exactly what they are being charged and when. The

Unfortunately this property is undergoing a renovation… I wish I had understood the true meaning of that before I booked. For the rate I paid (nearly 500 a nite) I expected a lot more. The carpet was stained as was the couch in my room, so badly stained I could t bring myself to sit on it. The room I stayed in was very outdated. Having said all that the staff was lovely and helpful, and the location is nice. I’d stay again if it were half the price.
