“We paid a premium price for a very standard room. Double bed with hard pillows. Very dated in the decor and furnishings. I was disappointed with the whole experience. Set menu for the evening was very pricy and was underwhelming. Breakfast was what saved the day, nice ingredients, great selection. Staff were friendly.”

“We only stayed overnight as at a wedding at Hodsock Priory, this is an ideal hotel for the venue as only few minutes away. The rooms are lovely, very clean and modern, I particularly liked the mirrors in the bathroom. Breakfast was excellent, good choices available and just what we needed. Staff were very friendly and helpful. We want to go back and try the evening meals another time. Definitely recommend the hotel though.”

“The hotel is very clean, staff very friendly. Unfortunately no air conditioning and when we stayed there was two weddings happening, so all the fans had been given out. The second floor hit you like a heat wave. The room was so hot I woke up feeling sick and spent sometime un tge middle of the night down stairs in the lobby to cool down the heat was unreal un the room, and the lobby had A/C. Thankfully second day we got a fan after I complained it was then bearable.. Breakfast was very nice....

“Room was very clean and tidy. The staff are amazing and there is loads of available parking to use. Great quiet location. This hotel is by far one of the best I’ve being to. If you get the chance get it booked.”

“Old world pub style accommodation nice country surroundings and location, very friendly helpful staff and on site parking enjoyed my stay will come again if I'm in the area !”

“Not ideal to stop and rest with children or young ones as place i dirty with bad odour from carpets. Also was noise from pub garden as we tried to rest/sleep. There was a fan on the side bed which was not wiped or cleaned. Shower was so stiff to turn off. I asked a member of staff to help and off he went back telling us he would bring wd40 till we checked out there was nothing resolved.”

“Things I didn’t like Headboard quite worn which was a bit off putting. Toilet didn’t flush properly but a small bucket was provided. Toiletries were a bit hot and miss (and mix) Clearly a lot of effort goes into the hotel and the staff are really good as was breakfast. There is a large car park right outside the hotel with an overflow which is great.”
