Pros: Late check-in was smooth. Pam was great. Allowed us to store our mountain bikes in a locked unused meeting room. Great location, close to Mountain Brook and downtown. Cons: Had to go up two floors to find a working ice machine. Everything was in disarray due to a remodel, we were told. Breakfast was ransacked and was told it would not be restocked and to come earlier tomorrow. The room was short 3 towels. Called and was told they were in the dryer and they'd bring them in 30 minutes. Multiple calls and visits to the front desk ended up with nothing, so took showers with pool towels (made of sand paper, I think) that we grabbed from the pool area ourselves.

This is a small property and the rooms were as well but everything worked in the room and I had everything I needed. I did not eat breakfast as my wife was a patient at Brookwood hospital and I was provied a guest tray. This hotel is very convenient to this hospital and the surrounding properties, (2) restaurants, were in good repair, well lit at night and I felt safe. I would stay here again. Staff knew wife was in hospital and asked about her, a considerate touch.

The front desk was staffed with two wonderful ladies. When I checked in, I met Lavadia. She is an 11 out of 10. I did not notice the lady's name when I left at 5 the next morning, but she is also an 11 out of 10. Great staff. My bed was comfortable, and I had a restful night's sleep.

Chose this Hampton Inn because it was convenient to the area we were visiting. Arrived on Tues to a very clean room. A/C worked great & beds were comfy. Hotel is undergoing renovations (didn’t see/hear workers) so breakfast buffet is not available. We were offered a “bag” breakfast (breakfast croissant/Nutri-grain bar/apple). Coffee was available all day in the lobby. Found the “bold” roast very weak…a matter of personal taste. Wed morning I tried to make coffee in our room but coffeemaker didn’t work. When I went down the hall to get ice (4th floor) found the machine was disconnected with no signage to indicate where I could get ice. Did find a working ice machine on 1st floor on our way out. Reported the problem with the coffeemaker to the front desk clerk and she wrote it down & assured me it would be taken care of. When we returned to our room that evening we found it just as we left it…no room service & still had the same coffeemaker right where I left it. Thurs morning reported to desk clerk that we needed to have our room cleaned & needed towels. Again the clerk wrote it down. I saw a maid/cart down the hallway on our floor as we left for the day but we again returned to an unserviced room. I went down to get towels & report that we again did not get room cleaned. I couldn’t get towels at the desk, clerk had to deliver them to the room. Clean comfortable hotel, just frustrating to pay for service & not get it. Hope that’s better after renovations. Overall good stay.

Usually enjoy my stay here. Morning staff (during checkout) is always friendly and helpful. That said, my most recent stay fell short of expectations. Had to relocate to a 2nd room after checking in. The tv in the original room would not turn on, and the bedside lamp was missing a light bulb and thus was unplugged (maybe just the light bulb instead). This location is also seemingly under construction. The gym was inaccessible due to the hallway being closed off during my most recent stay.

This hotel is currently undergoing a remodel. The lobby area is curtained off, and visible work is being done. Our room on the 4th floor had signs of remodeling, as well- tape on the wall and dust coating everything. Our room appeared clean, but after looking further, we found mismatched wallpaper and broken tiles, tiles that didn't meet the carpet, the area behind the toilet was filthy, etc. Amenities in the bathroom included face soap, lotion, shower gel, and conditioner. The third container in the shower was LOTION. No shampoo. The shower and sink hot water was abnormally hot. Sure, we need a hot shower, but not scalding. Outside our window, we could see two dumpsters overflowing with broken furniture and obvious garbage from the remodel. I could not recommend this hotel at this time.
