“Such a wonderful place to stay, eat & drink. Thank you”

“I was really looking forward to my stay at The Candlesticks. However as soon as I entered, I began to have my doubts. The bar area, where the owner received us, looked particularly shabby and it smelt musty. It was 3pm (an hour after checking-in should have started) and the room wasn't ready. It wasn't such a big deal, but it was another warning sign. I was in a single room, which made a certain saying about a cat spring to mind. “I was there for 1 night and just used it for a bed for the night”

“Primarily chosen as it was near to an event we were attending at the Nene Valley Railway (a short drive from the pub). We liked that the accommodation was in a separate building to the pub (although the pub was not loud). Good breakfast, evening meals, and friendly staff. We have a lovely walk around the village one evening, went back following day to try the local tea rooms but they closed early which was a shame. Will definitely stay here again”

“Friday night sing along right below room. Cleaner not present all the time. Bathroom was across the hall and was cleaned once. Windows were single pane and one lock broken Breakfast was Friday to Sunday only and expensive for what you got.”

“Very friendly with good home cooked food and excellent beers.”
