The bathroom mirror required changing with various black marks across it. The thermostatic controls were really stiff and couldn’t be fully used for both hot and cold. “A reasonable hotel with a good restaurant. Very good food available in the dining room, staff helpful and pleasant. A lack of heating and hot water marred our stay (in November) but otherwise good”

“There was only one member of staff on reception at check in time which means multiple guests have to wait to check in. We went for lunch and had to ask firstly to order drinks and then again to order food. Unfortunately the burgers were way over cooked and the waiter had no incling that this might not be acceptable. It is unfathomable to me based on the price that a full breakfast wouldn’t be included in room rate.”

“Lovely traditional pub, excellent food and accomodation”

“El hotel está súper bonito, súper buena ubicación, solo que nos tocó un cuarto sin aire, nos prestaron un ventilador pero teníamos que dormir con la ventana abierta, mucho ruido afuera, el personal del restaurante y del bar muy bien, pero de recepción no fue el mejor! Los cuartos están muy bonitos!”

“Everything was amazing. Oliver was beyond helpful and kind!”

“A beautiful thatched pub in the Suffolk countryside with original features and delicious breakfast”

“This is a fantastic hotel that I would recommend to all.”

“Had a mews room on ground floor. Lovely to just step outside for coffee”

“Cory, the manager of The Fox, is a lovely host. Super hard working, he is around to serve breakfast and still managing the bar late at night. Nothing is too much trouble. The rooms are spacious and warm. Parking is immediately outside the rooms and easily accessed. Bury St Edmund’s is a lovely town with excellent shopping and coffee shops. Strongly recommend staying at The Fox for visiting Bury St Edmunds.”

“The roast partridge and Rhone red were excellent, as was our room.”

“Due to a VRBO double booking, this was a last-minute booking @ around 6:30pm. They welcomed us in with open arms and made the stay most enjoyable. Glad we got double-booked!”

“Staff was very friendly, super quiet hotel with air conditioning. Very clean.”

“Excelente hotel. Una sorpresa en el pequeño pueblo de Bury St Edmunds la limpieza, el cuarto y el desayuno. Muy recomendable. ”
