“Great rural location (i am not a golfer), really nice room, clean and comfortable and reasonably stylish. Only let downs were; paper thin walls so could hear quiet conversations in the adjacent rooms, and a noisy shower (neighbour showered at 1am!). it was a heatwave; room fans were provided but it would have been good to fully ventilate the rooms. Due to work commitments i had to leave before breakfast so can't comment on that.”

“Room was impeccably clean, staff were welcoming and attentive. Breakfast was delicious with plenty of choice and quality food. Parking was easy to find, and there was lots of room! It was nice to walk around the village, there was so much to see and shorts walks got you seeing so much!”

“The hotel is okay, dated but serviceable, but for an old property with beautiful staircases and features, it could be truly stunning. Was warned about the noise and read previous reviews so I went prepared. The disconnect here is context and expectations. The context is that I guess the owners make more money from the bar, entertainment and nightclub, and that the rooms are just a less profitable add on, hence the dated decor and poor maintenance. “Older property showing some wear and tear. Check in wasn’t too great, as we waited over 20 minutes with no one at the desk and were continually told they were having a busy day. While that’s okay, an option to leave our bags would have been nice. The staff acted a bit annoyed (two people separately) when I asked to check in, but the manager who eventually came was kind and helpful. The room was very warm (early August) with no cross breeze.
