“Lovely room with a spectacular view. Food good tho’ wine a little pricey - you’re a bit of a captive audience up there. Parking fine. Nice walking nearby, with the seal colony a special treat (not to close tho, eh?) Nice staff. Clean and shiny inside. ”

“The rooms were in separate cottages, some 50 metres away from the hotel's main building and restaurant; a little inconvenient in bad weather. Also, very narrow stairs to carry luggage.”

“Cashed in some one key points for night away . Took the scenic route from Gateshead and visited Richmond , Aysgarth Falls , Grassington and Thirsk on the way . Had a couple of beers in the beer garden , freshened up then a gorgeous meal in the orangery. So glad we had booked as they were turning people away ! The staff were excellent- friendly , courteous and attentive. Lovely relaxing night away , helped by the English heatwave .”
