“The stay at Mulgrave Country Cottage was wonderful. A beautiful house and gardens, peaceful and tranquil. The staff were very friendly and welcoming and the breakfast was fresh, well presented and very tasty. I would highly recommend a visit and we will definitely be returning ”

“Staff very helpful, amazing location so easy to get around various beauty spots. Park& Ride across the road. Access to Whitby so easy. Disabled visitors catered for. Staff decorated our room ( which was amazing) for my birthday. Lovely surprise.”

“Bedrooms and bathrooms are a bit tired and in need of decoration but on the whole it didn’t spoil our stay, beds were clean and comfortable. Plenty of selection at breakfast. Would stay again.”

“Great location for getting around Whitby. Shame about lack of car parking. Shower drain in our room was prone to blocking. Concerned it might flood the downstairs. We did mention it to staff. Overall a pleasant stay. Might be an idea to mention the stairs leading to upper room as less mobile guests may struggle”

“Lovely spacious room, decent price, quick responses to all my enquiries and parking for 48 hours at £3 is a bonus!! Only downfall was the shower was a bit dirty and dusty, other than that it's a great place to stay, close to the sea front and town centre! Would stay again! :)”

“The room, service, food were all great. The only complaint was the breakfast. We got there and 9:30am they finish at 10am and there was hardly anything left and they don't put out more yogurt, fruit, cheese etc. Very disappointed in that aspect.”

“Booked for just one night to attend a nearby wedding. Room was a twin in a block of 4 located in the car park behind the pub. Modern bathroom and comfortable bedroom with TV, tea/coffee, hairdryer etc. Rooms are traditional rather than modern but fit in with the main pub. Breakfast was excellent - full English with cereal/juice/toast all available. Handy for many east coast locations with lovely scenery very close.”
