Aberchalder Vacations

Room clean and comfortable,bathroom was shared and was not cleaned daily. Ran out of toilet roll on first night not staff around to ask for more. General upkeep of building was poor and needs updating. Looked like something from a horror movie on arrival and did think about leaving.

The location was amazing, directly onto Athena stunning East Beach road. The staff were incredibly helpful and friendly. We ordered the Scottish breakfast and it was freshly cooked and delicious. The room was a bit small with a tiny en-suite.

Studio room - functional kitchen, comfortable bed, plenty of space. Shampoo/shower gel a little too watered down to be functional. LVT flooring in room fitted on to a poor subfloor has caused the click system to fail resulting in uneven boards and multiple trip hazards around room. No iron, iron board or portable fan in the rooms either,

Basic, clean and comfortable. The couple running the guesthouse went above and beyond to make us welcome. After arriving on the Caladonian Sleeper train from London (and getting very little sleep on the train) They juggled rooms around to allow us a room at 9am when check-in wasn't till 3pm. Nothing was too much trouble.

Most of the hotel is a building site, a lot of renovations in the main part. The room we had was at the back. It was small but adequate for the one night we were there. There were a couple of pieces of furniture with drawer space but no wardrobe or hooks to hang coats. The single beds were OK but there was only one pillow each, no extras. No food or drink facilities but a kettle, coffee/tea ...and Haribo in the room! Nice touch! It used to be a lovely hotel, years ago, and I hope the new owners can bring it back to that high standard again. At the moment it's OK for a night or two but pricey for what's offered. A good location.

Breakfast was excellent.
