“I was really looking forward to my stay at The Candlesticks. However as soon as I entered, I began to have my doubts. The bar area, where the owner received us, looked particularly shabby and it smelt musty. It was 3pm (an hour after checking-in should have started) and the room wasn't ready. It wasn't such a big deal, but it was another warning sign. I was in a single room, which made a certain saying about a cat spring to mind. “Warm welcome on arrival and personally shown to our room which was overlooking the courtyard, so would be nice and quiet. Good room facilities including coffee machine. Ate in the restaurant where the food was great. Rate included a continental breakfast which was all we needed, but there is hot options if you wish. Great one night stop over.”
