“What a beautiful property finished to a very high standard of decor. Property was spotless, food was excellent and the owner's such lovely friendly people. Secure car parking for the time spent there. Would definitely recommend the Melrose guest house.”

“A lovely property just a 10 min walk from the centre of Ambleside or down to Lake Windermere. A great base from which to explore all that The Lake District has to offer. I would stay here again!”

“Fantastic location and friendly staff. Wonderful cooked breakfast. Great choice of local beer.”

“Quaysiders resort is an apartment/hotel right by the upper side of Lake Windermere in Ambleside. It is in an absolutely perfect location close to the lake, shops, restaurants. We stayed in a 2 bedroom apartment with a kitchen that had all kitchen amenities. Our Apartment was very clean and spacious . There is an indoor pool that was warm and it can also be like a Jacuzzi. “It's not a bad place to spend a night or two but is pretty dated and expensive for what you get. For some reason, no bath towels were provided and instead you get four hand towels. There was also only decaf coffee. All this would be fine if it was cheap, but it's not.”

“Beautiful cottage, wish we were staying longer. Will definitely book again”

“Great location and great, safe private parking spot. Cottage is clean, spacious and cosy. Cottage is a little old fashioned, and needs a bit of TLC but the basics are all there and some nice touches- milk in fridge, bread, butter, eggs, tea coffee etc supplied. Would stay again as reasonably priced for what it is.”

“Great location away from the crowds at Windermere. Lodge is well designed to take in stunning views of Lake Grasmere and the hills.”

“Small but perfectly formed home with the most beautiful views. Well equipped, especially the games and books. Only downside is cleanliness, it’s a home that allows dogs and you can tell, the rug was covered in dog hairs and it didn’t have the freshest of smells when you walked in. It had clearly been cleaned but unsuccessfully covered up the doggy smell.”
