“The the property and gardens, of course are phenomenal. This is an older. estate property so some issues can be expected with the conditions of the finishes. Unfortunately, with us being seniors, it was very difficult for us to get our luggage to the third floor by stairs. The size of the rooms are also quite small but clean. Furniture in the room was appropriate for the period and comfortable. The staff was very helpful in trying to resolve outside issues such as Parking in town which is not...

“Pros - good location. Short walk into town. Room clean, modern & spacious. Self check in with good clear instruction prior to arrival. Cons - Car park full so had to pay for parking on car park next door. No plates at breakfast only cardboard dishes which made it difficult to butter toast as the bread wouldn't fit in the dish. Would definately stay here again though & just maybe arrive earlier to get a parking space.”

“Fantastic location but no parking space included was problematic. Car parks fill up quickly. There was no welcome pack or information about the property. The property decor was dated and cleaning was not up to standard. For example the dust and dirt behind the beds and tops of plug sockets, splashes of food and drink on the doors and no light bulb in the bedroom.”

“Old Stones Cottage is situated perfectly for getting around Ambleside and is a great hub for exploring the lakes. For Parking, permits for on street parking and Public Car parks are provided, but luck is needed to get parked close to the property. Instead one of the...

“Great location in the centre of town with parking . Nice touch with milk , eggs etc provided. Accommodation adequate however in need of a little facelift.”

“We had an excellent stay with an amazing view of lake Windermere. Our two boys had good reviews of the apartment which is unusual. The apartment was very well kept and very comfortable ♥️”

“Lovely property and location. Everything you could possibly need in the property. Fan a bit loud in bathroom. Parking little tight when full but doable ”

“Please NOTE - Do not use the WIFI in this property - it has been hacked. Both our Hotmail accounts were compromised when using it !!!!”

“Really lovely cottage in the middle of Ambleside. Parking is off-site about 5 minutes away from the property up a very steep hill which wasn’t made explicitly clear so bare that in mind. There is nowhere to quickly park your car to unload bags or collect the resident’s parking permit so you have to pay for parking first. The showers were nice but honestly quite dirty with lots of black marks (possibly mould) on the shower head and the silicone which put us off using one of them. Besides that...
