“The room was big and very nicely decorated”

“The hotel is extremely dated. Note that there is a large annex, so if you are in a “garden” room, you are not staying in the castle, it is an outdated 1980s annex. The bathroom had a sink that had been broken and poorly glued back together and a very dirty fan. The beds were extremely uncomfortable and could have used a mattress topper. You feel every spring in the mattress. The entire hotel also had a very musty smell. The actual castle portion has potential to be very beautiful, but some...

“Gunta & the others at Beechwood lodge are so welcoming! They went out of their way to make sure we were informed, accommodated, and enjoying our stay. The room was clean and comfortable, with a beautiful view from the window and breakfast was delicious and very filling. Was a very nice stay and we'd be more than happy to stay again if we're in the area!”

“We really enjoyed our stay. The location was great - ideal base for walking up the east coast of Scotland, beach a short walk away, lovely towns to visit and good shopping nearby. The property had everything we needed - we had to buy a sharp knife, but other than that no problem. We found the wifi to be unreliable, sadly, so struggled to do more than a quick web browse.”
