What you can expect

Begin your experience by meeting your instructor, who began training in Japanese dance at the age of four and is currently an active professional teacher. She has extensive experience and is particularly skilled at teaching children and first-time learners, ensuring a comfortable and enjoyable lesson for all participants.

Although the instructor does not speak English, a bilingual assistant (who is also a kimono dresser) will be present throughout the session to provide interpretation and support. This ensures that international guests can fully enjoy the experience without language barriers.

Learn one complete dance piece selected according to your level: “Sakura Sakura” for beginners, “Haru yo Koi” for intermediate learners, and “Togetsukyo” for advanced beginners. Each piece features elegant gestures and expressive movements that reflect the beauty of Japanese traditional arts.

All necessary items are provided, including a yukata (traditional summer kimono), tabi socks, and dance props such as folding fans. A professional dresser will assist you with putting on the yukata, allowing you to enjoy the lesson in authentic attire.

The lesson is held at Shuroan, a serene traditional Japanese residence. Its calm atmosphere, tatami rooms, and natural lighting create an ideal environment for learning Japanese dance.
