Tour the World War One battlefields of north-western France with battlefield historian and cartographer Bart. Bart, who is an official Somme battlefield guide (Somme tourist board), will join you in your car for a 6-hour guided tour of the first world war battlefields of northwestern France.
Choose from a variety of topics, such as the Somme offensive, Vimy Ridge, Americans in the Somme, the French sector, writers and poets in the Somme, and the last flight of the Red Baron. You can also mix and match topics at your discretion within the constraints of time.
If you have any family members who fought in the war, Bart can also help you trace their footsteps, subject to available information. Usually, the tour starts at 14-18 Somme Chambres (Bed and Breakfast) at Beaucourt-sur-l'Ancre (Somme) at 09:00, unless agreed otherwise. For day tours, a lavish packed lunch is available for a small price.
