Ride a water bike across the river instead of along the cycling path, combining outdoor activity, fitness, and nature at your own pace. The recommended route follows approximately 20 km of the Lahn from Diez to Balduinstein and back, with around 3 to 4 hours of riding time. Enjoy the freedom to explore the river independently while taking in the peaceful natural surroundings and stopping in Diez or Balduinstein for refreshments (own expense) along the way.

Explore the Lahn River at your own pace with a self-guided water biking experience from Diez. Pick up your single-person water bike at Campingplatz Diez between 10:00 AM and 11:00 AM and follow the scenic route to Balduinstein and back, covering approximately 20 km. This experience includes a life jacket, bicycle basket, and safety line. While the route typically takes 3 to 4 hours of riding time, you'll have the flexibility to enjoy stops along the way. Visit cafés and ice cream shops in Diez or relax at a restaurant, kiosk, or beer garden in Balduinstein (own expense). The route passes through the Diez lock, with the final lock operation at 6:00 PM. Please allow sufficient time for your return, as all water bikes must be returned between 6:00 PM and 7:00 PM.
