Make the most of your time in Riggins with a half-day whitewater rafting adventure on Idaho’s famous Salmon River. This action-packed run covers an exciting 11-mile stretch of Main Salmon whitewater—perfect for families and travelers who want big fun without committing to a full-day trip.

After check-in at Mountain River Outfitters, your guide team will get you fitted with a life jacket and walk you through a quick river safety orientation. Then it’s time to hit the water. Follow your experienced guide through a series of memorable rapids—like Time Zone, Tight Squeeze, Black Rock, and Ladder—mixing splashy thrills with calmer sections to float, relax, and take in canyon scenery.

Along the way, you’ll have time to cool off with a swim, play fun river games, and enjoy snacks and drinks on the raft. Most trips also include a stop on a beach to soak up the warm sand and water, or to visit an interpretive site where you’ll hear stories about the canyon’s history.

To wrap up, you’ll shuttle back to Riggins and the outfitter headquarters. If you’d like, browse optional extras in the store—photos, souvenirs, and additional beverages—before heading on with your day.
