Springs Preserve

Explore an oasis in the desert, a small lake, hiking trails, museum, picnic area, trees, greenery, and animals make this a favorite for photography backdrops and visitors. This is home to some of the oldest buildings in Nevada, a 1860s blacksmith shop, the Sandstone Cabin that was home to the founding family and the ranch house. Hiking trails throughout the park, in addition to tree-shaded picnic sites with tables and grills, make day trips to the park a family favorite.

Cowboy Trail Rides (Pass by)

For a completely different experience of the Red Rock Canyon and Calico Basin, join a guided cowboy trail ride. Ride through various trails, completely beginner friendly with a variety of trail lengths, and scenery. Winner of Viator 2017 travel awards.

Red Spring Boardwalk Trail

We'll stop by the Red Spring Boardwalk, or Calico Basin Boardwalk, a 1/2-mile loop walk with plenty of benches to rest and enjoy the birds and alkali meadow - with salty water and salt-tolerant plants. This is a great place for bird watching! Don't miss the petroglyphs and this historical significance.
