What you can expect

Puerto Jiménez: Private Full-Day Tour to Sirena Station – Corcovado National Park

Our private tour starts early in the morning from our Corcovado Wild Tours office in Puerto Jiménez at 5:15 a.m. We then walk to the public pier, where we board the boat that will take us into the heart of Corcovado National Park.

The journey begins with a crossing of the tranquil Golfo Dulce for approximately 30 minutes, followed by about 45 minutes across the Pacific Ocean until we reach Sirena Station, one of the most biodiverse sites on the planet. Arrival is scheduled for around 7:20 AM.

At 7:30 a.m., we will check in with the park rangers and begin a private guided hike along the Sirena trails. During the tour, which lasts until approximately 11:30 a.m., you will have excellent opportunities to observe the park's incredible wildlife.

Please note that boat transportation is shared with other visitors. However, the guide service inside the park is fully private. In addition, Corcovado is a highly visited park, especially the Sirena Station, so it is common to encounter other groups on the trails during the tour.

With a bit of luck, you will be able to spot howler monkeys, white-headed capuchin monkeys, spider monkeys, sloths, tapirs, peccaries, coatis, iguanas, crocodiles, and a wide variety of tropical birds, such as scarlet macaws and toucans. Corcovado is considered one of the most biodiverse sites in the Americas.

At around 11:30 a.m., we will stop at Sirena Station, where you will have time to use the restrooms or purchase a light snack or beverage before continuing.

From 12:00 pm to 12:45 pm, we will go on one last short hike along the trails, taking advantage of our final opportunities to spot wildlife.

At 12:45 p.m., we will board the boat back to Puerto Jiménez, arriving at the dock at approximately 2:20 p.m.

Tour recommendations

To enjoy the experience to the most, we recommend bringing:

Comfortable walking shoes or boots
Light, cool clothing
Raincoat or rain poncho
Sunscreen
Insect repellent
Head covering
Camera or binoculars
Reusable water bottle
A small personal snack, if desired

We recommend traveling light, as the tour involves hiking along nature trails inside the park.

This private tour is ideal for nature lovers who want to explore one of the world's wildest and most biodiverse parks in a single day, with the personalized attention of a licensed naturalist guide.
