On the coastal road of Kralendijk, heading north, near Gotomeer, lies Landhuis Karpata. Plantation Karpata, originally called Borneo, was later renamed after a plant that still grows here, the source of the laxative wonder oil. In the past, the buildings of Karpata, dating back to after 1868, served as an important trading center. In addition to goats for hides and meat, the plantation produced aloe, charcoal, and dye wood.

we will stop at Gotomeer this is a saltwater lagoon located on the northern side of the island, where flamingos often gather. Bonaire is one of the few places in the world where these pink flamingos choose to nest. For the photographer I have some private unknown locations where we can have a more closer look at the flamingo's.

Subi Rincon is a viewpoint above the oldest village in the Dutch Antilles, which will celebrate its 500th anniversary in 2027. This village showcases the authentic essence of Bonaire, distinct from Dutch culture, and reflects the vibrant local community with all its colors and friendliness. Here, you can see goats and donkeys roaming freely through the village, providing opportunities to enjoy local food and beverages. Subi Rincon is an observation point situated about 60 meters above the village and is only a 5-minute drive by car. Here, I also share the story of how the Arawak Indians arrived on the island and peacefully built their lives until the Spaniards invaded and enslaved them.

At the Onima Indian Inscriptions, I will introduce you to the very spot where the Spaniards first landed on the island and discuss the ocean and its immense power. I will also explain how the elders, known as "the Imakan," guided their people using the wisdom of their ancestors, along with their knowledge of the stars, plants, and animals.
