What you can expect

Climb aboard the quirky PINK amphibious vehicle, LARC, and journey around the shoreline of the historical Town of 1770. Along the way, visit Middle Island, a monumental restored lighthouse, and stunning golden sandy beaches, before the chance to go sandboarding down the dunes!

Your day starts as you ride along the coastline in the LARC, a vehicle that can travel on land and water. Drive along the beach to your first destination, the Bustard Head Lightstation, and enter Queensland's only operating lighthouse tower open to the public. Enjoy Morning Tea and Lunch served to you with Billy Tea at our shady LARC camp area in the national park.

Listen to your knowledgeable local guide tell stories of the local and the lightstation history, as you witness the majestic beauty of this location, the same beauty that greeted Lieutenant James Cook when he came ashore here in May, 1770.
