Start your adventure with a trek to the top of Pha Mok, taking about 2.5 hours. Pass through bamboo, banana forests, and jungle. Arrive at the top in time for the sunset. Your local guide will prepare dinner.
After breakfast the following day, start your journey back to Nong Khiaw and Luang Prabang. If you require transport back to Luang Prabang (not included in the fee), let us know and we can help.
Day 2:
Boat upstream for 40 minutes on the Ou River to Ban Sopkong, a Khmu farming village. Explore the village and trek another hour through rice paddies, jungle, and sloping hills.
Enjoy lunch at the That Mok waterfall, where you can swim in a natural pool and relax. Trek for about an hour back to the river, where your boat will take you north to Muang Ngoy.
This is a small village under a massive limestone cliff, where you can hear tales of the last Indochina war. Walk to an ancient cave and up to the top viewpoint in the region.
Take a small boat trip to the weaving village of Ban Sop Jam, where you will sleep after dinner. See textiles being woven.
Day 3:
After breakfast, say goodbye to the people, then continue a jungle trek for about 4 hours (5 km). Enjoy exploring the deep jungle, hearing animal sounds, and having lunch in the jungle.
After the jungle trek, take a boat down the river, then stop at the beach. Finally, kayak to Nong Khiaw.
