But the adventure isn’t over yet. Marvel at the Screeching Bird Canyon, stand before the Arenoso Dam, and take in Jurassic Park-like landscapes as we drive through the Sierra de Espadán. This isn’t a rushed or scripted tour. It is a raw and immersive experience for those who crave a real escape.

Next, we’ll head to Montanejos, a hidden gem famous for its legendary healing waters, naturally rich in sulfate and zinc. Next, we’ll stop for lunch at Bar Mijares, where Teresa will welcome you with authentic, home-cooked flavors. The warm, familiar atmosphere makes it the perfect place to relax, share stories, and recharge after our morning adventures. With delicious local dishes and a laid-back vibe, this stop will refuel us for the rest of our journey!

In the afternoon, we’ll make our way to Screeching Bird Canyon, a breathtaking gorge sculpted over time by the Mijares River. From a stunning viewpoint, you’ll take in sweeping views of towering cliffs, rugged rock formations, and the winding river far below. The sheer scale of this place is humbling, and if we’re lucky, we might even hear the canyon’s namesake—the echoing calls of birds soaring high above. It’s the perfect spot to pause, soak in the beauty, and capture some unforgettable photos before we head to our final stop.

Arenós Reservoir

Our journey ends at the impressive Arenoso Dam, a 50-meter-deep, 7-kilometer-long feat of engineering that blends seamlessly with its natural surroundings. Standing here, you’ll feel the contrast between the power of human ingenuity and the raw beauty of nature. The tranquil reservoir reflects the surrounding cliffs, creating a peaceful, almost surreal atmosphere—perfect for one last deep breath before we head back.
