Overview

Join a unique adventure that blends jungle hiking, Sunset and authentic local culture. We’ll meet at the Sayulita bus station and ride like locals to Higuera Blanca (25 min).
After a short intro, we’ll hike 8 km (5 mi) through lush jungle trails, climbing to the summit of Monkey Mountain. The challenge is moderate but the reward is breathtaking: 360° views of the Pacific and Sierra Madre.
We’ll then head back along the same trail until we reach a small local stand where you can refresh yourself with a delicious fresh coconut perfect for rehydrating and unwinding after the hike.
To end on a high note, we’ll take our transportation back to Sayulita where a true culinary experience awaits at Punto Escondido, a cozy restaurant known for its delicious local cuisine.

Monkey Mountain

Your adventure begins at the Sayulita Bus Station, where we will take a local bus to the town of Higuera Blanca(25 min) After a brief introduction we will begin the hike to Cerro del Mono. The round trip distance is 8 km/ 5 mile. We will start on a path that connects to the jungle, from there we will continue up a long hill and we will climb some rocks to the top of the hill. The difficulty intensity is medium - moderate. During the tour you will learn about the flora and fauna and the geography of the place. As well as the culture, traditions and history of the Higuera Blanca and Sayulita At the top of the hill you will have time to rest, admire the landscape and enjoy a small snack. We will descend along the same path and stop at a station where you will meet “Don Pedro” who will have a fresh coconut for you. Then we going to "La Cocina de Mamá Toña" a small local restaurant with delicious mexican food. Finally we will take a private transport to Sayulita. The duration is 4:30 hrs.
