Once a bustling international trading port, Mojiko now offers visitors a nostalgic glimpse into the early 20th century with attractions like the Mojiko Station, Kaikyo Plaza, and the Mojiko Retro District filled with cafes, museums, and shops. A unique feature of Mojiko is the Kanmon Pedestrian Tunnel, a 780-meter-long undersea passage that allows pedestrians to walk beneath the Kanmon Strait, connecting Kyushu and Honshu. The tunnel is free for pedestrians and takes about 15 minutes to traverse. Bicycles and motorbikes can also use the tunnel for a small fee, but must be pushed through.
