What you can expect

Discover the lesser-known town of Medias on a guided walking tour. Learn about the history of the town and see its most important historical sites.

Meet your guide at the entrance of the fortified church and set off to explore the town.

First stop: the Saint Margaret fortified church, also known as “the castle,” with its catholic chapel and its medieval prison. Hear the legend of the Trumpet's Tower and find out why you are standing in front of a leaning tower. After visiting the church, the chapel and the prison, the tour continues on the most beautiful street in town (Honterus Street), lined with trees and aristocratic-like houses.

You'll get a glimpse of the Stonemason's Tower, probably the most beautiful Baroque tower in Transylvania, and then head to the former Franciscan Monastery, where we will enter the lobby.

The tour continues on less touristy streets, taking you the “Corso” - the main street for leisure walking in the 20th century and to the Blacksmiths Tower, now a cafe, where we can make a quick pit stop for a drink.

Next, the Goldsmiths Tower with its public library and, as we are heading towards the main square we will make a small stop in front of a former bank, its facade filled with strange symbols - the “sparkasse”.

Last stop: the central square, King Ferdinand I, former market and justice place, nowadays a park.

After your tour, your guide can recommend a local coffee shop to end your tour.
