Montsonís Castle, perched atop the medieval town of Montsonís, is one of the most iconic fortresses in La Noguera. Originally built in 1024, in a context of border and territorial control, the castle had a defensive function linked to the protection and afforestation of the middle Segre area.

The guided visit allows you to learn about the castle's evolution from a medieval fortress to a stately residence. The tour usually starts outside, where the stone façade, the battlements, the keep, and the Gothic window stand out, elements that give the castle a very distinctive appearance. The castle is fully integrated into the village, surrounded by stone houses and with sweeping views over the agricultural landscape and the valley.
