We'll continue our journey to Yungay, a place full of history and culture. You'll learn the moving story of the 1970 earthquake and how this town has been reborn with strength and hope. You'll be amazed by the panoramic views and the friendliness of its people.
Finally, we'll arrive at the stunning Llanganuco Lagoon, where its turquoise waters reflect the majestic peaks of the mountain range. You'll have time to explore, take photos, and connect with nature.
ITINERARY:
9:00 to 9:30 am: We leave Huaraz for Callejón de Huaylas. We visit the town of Carhuaz, where we have a food tasting of artisanal ice cream made with local fruits, and we visit the church and the square.
We'll make a stop at the Campo Santo de Yungay, where we'll visit the city buried by the 1970 earthquake, and we'll climb up to the White Christ. Continuing with the tour, we will visit the Llanganuco Lagoon, which is located at 3,850 meters above sea level. It has a turquoise color, is surrounded by Quenuales forests, and is flanked by the snow-capped Huanday, Yanapaccha, and Huascarán mountains. After exploring the Llanganuco Lagoon, we will descend for lunch at a local restaurant.
We'll make the last visit of our tour in the village of Taricá, where we'll see how clay-based handicrafts are made. We return to the city of Huaraz at approximately 7:00 PM.
