What you can expect

Step into the world of Outlander, sail the legendary waters of Loch Ness, and raise a glass to Scotland’s finest whisky. Discover the stories, landscapes, and legends that have shaped the Highlands on this unforgettable day from Inverness.

Departing from the heart of Inverness, we head straight for the legendary waters of Loch Ness. Step aboard a cruise and enjoy the breathtaking views as you sail towards the mighty ruins of Urquhart Castle.

We continue to the charming village of Beauly, where you’ll have free time for lunch and a wander around the atmospheric Beauly Priory that featured in the Outlander novel Dragonfly in Amber.

Next, we lift your spirits with a visit to a Highland whisky distillery. Learn how Scotland’s famous ‘water of life’ is crafted and, if you fancy, sample a dram for yourself.

Our journey then takes us to the haunting Culloden Battlefield, where the Jacobite dream came to a brutal end. Walk the battlefield and hear stories of courage, loss, and history that shaped the Highlands.

Finally, we visit the ancient standing stones and burial cairns at Clava Cairns – a site believed to have inspired the Outlander time-travel stones. After a day filled with legends and landscapes, we return to Inverness in the early evening.

Please note that during winter the tour route goes in reverse.
