️ Itinerary – Ausangate the 7 Lakes Tour
Our excursion begins very early, with pick-up from your accommodation between 4:00 and 5:00 a.m., as long as you are staying in the historic center of Cusco.
Once the group is gathered, we will head towards the district of Ocongate and then continue to the community of Pacchanta, located at the foot of the majestic Ausangate Snow-Capped Mountain, at an altitude of 4,200 meters above sea level.
In Pacchanta, we’ll enjoy a delicious Andean breakfast to start the day full of energy. Before beginning the hike, our guide will provide a short briefing and important instructions about the route.
At 8:00 a.m., we’ll begin our approximately 5-hour hike (round trip), visiting several stunning lakes of different colors such as Azulcocha, Pukacocha, Oq’ecocha, Alqacocha, and Q’omercocha, among others.
During the trek, we’ll have the opportunity to admire the Ausangate Mountain up close, part of the impressive Vilcanota mountain range, surrounded by breathtaking high-Andean landscapes, flora, and fauna.
Upon returning to the community of Pacchanta, we’ll enjoy a well-deserved lunch and have time to relax in the natural hot springs — the perfect way to recover after the hike.
In the afternoon, we’ll start our return journey to the city of Cusco, arriving at approximately 6:30 p.m.
