Discover a family-run Armagnac production facility with traditional expertise that has been passed down since 1967. In Condom-en-Armagnac, in the Gers department, Château le Courréjot has been carrying on the art of distillation for three generations on an estate covering approximately 25 acres. Here, Armagnac is produced using time-honored methods, with a particular focus on the raw ingredients and the aging process.
The tour begins with a visit to the barrel cellar, where you will learn about the aging process and the influence of wood on brandies. You will then see the estate’s copper still: the producers will explain to you, in a clear and accessible way, the main stages of Armagnac production, from the grapes to distillation and then to aging. In particular, the estate works with three grape varieties: Ugni Blanc, Baco, and Meslier Saint François.
The tour concludes with a commented tasting of 3 to 4 different Armagnacs, accompanied by an appetizer, to compare the aromatic profiles of different vintages and grape varieties. This is a convivial experience, ideal for gaining a better understanding of this iconic spirit and leaving with practical insights.
