Day 1: Once you arrive in Lima, a transfer takes you from the airport to your hotel, where you can get settled in and take the rest of the day to explore the city.
Day 2: In the morning, see two of the best museums in the country. The Archaeological and Anthropological Museum offers a look at the cultures of Peru, while the Larco Museum features an 18th century mansion built atop a 7th-century pyramid, holding treasures that include an exclusive collection of pre-Columbian erotic ceramics.
Day 3: Visit Huaca Rajada, where the well-preserved tomb of the Lord of Sipan was found. After you see the Valley of Pyramids at Tucume, once an impressive urban center, end the day with a visit to the Royal Tombs Museum of Sipan.
Day 4: Today's tour takes you to Trujillo to see the Casa Grande sugar hacienda, the Brujo Archaeological Complex and Museum, and a pre-Inca cemetery in the surrounding area.
Day 5: Visit the Temple of the Moon and the Temple of the Dragon before you arrive at Chan Chan, capital of the Chimu Empire and the largest pre-Columbian city in South America. The tour continues with a visit to the Huanchaco fishermen's cove, famous for its totora reed boats called Totora Horses.
