The village of Cemoro Lawang serves as the perfect base for exploring Mount Bromo and its surrounding wonders.

Day 3: Bromo Sunrise and Transfer to Bondowoso City

Bromo Tengger Semeru National Park

Rise before dawn and journey to the famed Penanjakan viewpoint for an unforgettable sunrise over Mount Bromo. The journey from Bondowoso to Ijen Crater is an adventure in itself, offering breathtaking landscapes and a glimpse into rural Javanese life. The trip typically takes around 1.5 to 2 hours by car, covering a distance of approximately 60 kilometers. As you get closer to Ijen, the landscape becomes more dramatic. The road climbs higher into the mountains, and you'll start to see the distinctive peaks of the Ijen complex. The air becomes cooler and the vegetation changes, with pine trees and ferns becoming more common.
