Meet your local guide in Mitaka and step into one of Tokyo’s lesser-known yet deeply rooted drinking neighborhoods. Unlike the neon-saturated corridors of Shinjuku or Shibuya, Mitaka offers a more lived-in side of Tokyo’s izakaya culture — the kind of area where regulars gather after work and the bars reflect the character of the community around them.

Your guide introduces the neighborhood as you walk toward the first stop, setting the tone for the evening ahead. Over the course of around three hours, move through three separate bar districts within walking distance of each other.

At each venue, settle in, order drinks, and take in the atmosphere at your own pace before moving on to the next. Your guide navigates the transitions between stops, keeping the route manageable and the evening flowing.

Each bar brings a different setting — from alley-side spots to more tucked-away local hangouts — giving you a cross-section of what Mitaka’s drinking scene actually looks like. By the end of the night, visit three distinct venues, each with its own character, and cover a stretch of Mitaka’s bar districts that most visitors never reach.
