What you can expect

  • Step back in time and discover Australia’s largest permanent display of prehistoric life at the National Dinosaur Museum, located in Canberra’s Gold Creek Village. Journey through billions of years of Earth’s history, from the dawn of life to the age of dinosaurs and beyond.

Upon arrival, be greeted by towering dinosaur models before entering the museum’s main exhibition halls. Explore galleries featuring fossilized remains, skeletons, and detailed scientific reconstructions that bring prehistoric life vividly to life.

Younger visitors can enjoy interactive displays and hands-on learning zones that make science fun and engaging. Outside, wander among lifelike dinosaur sculptures — a perfect backdrop for photos and family memories.

The museum houses over 150 dinosaur models, 23 complete skeletons, and over 300 displays of individual fossils in its multi-level indoor gallery, as well as a garden space featuring a 20-metre animatronic T.rex. The storytelling within its collection is linked to Australia, its history, and its preservation.
