Fantastic stay at the Jägerhof - comfortable room with balcony that had a direct view of the Matterhorn [which we could see out the window from our bed!] Great shower and breakfast [fresh bread was delicious]. Their own electric transport collected us from the station and returned us back there - although it is not far to walk [15mins] and super restaurants can be found in 5-10 min walk. You do not need the car as all activities, shops and restaurants are walkable - which was fantastic. We lived our stay here and would definitely recommend.

Good location, very friendly staffs, shuttle bus drivers are very helpful. Good breakfasts and good daily dinners menus. Nice balcony can watch Matthorn sunrise . Only a 3 minutes walk to the bridge for sunrise view. 5 minutes walk to Matthorn glacier paradise cable car station.

Zermatt is a beautiful Village in Switzerland. This hotel was only about a 4 minute walk to the town center. Booked late. So they only had a room to accommodate 3 people, which was nice to have the extra space, for 2 people. Was on the first floor. Room 106, unfortunately a view of really nothing. Breakfast was good, but they charge 3 CHF per egg if you want an omelette or a fried egg instead of the scrambled eggs provided. It was still a very good breakfast. Staff were friendly and they provided complimentary shuttle service to and from the train station. TV in the room has live web cams of the mountain weather. No AC in rooms, but this was not an issue even in August, since Zermatt is at an elevation of 5,300 feet and is always 10 degrees F cooler then other cities in Switzerland.

We stayed in four different hotels during this vacation and Hotel Jagerhof was by far our favorite. The staff was friendly, the room was plenty big enough for three people, and there was a lot of space in the shower for all of our toiletries (and we have a teenager daughter). Our room seemed to have been recently renovated and the hotel is in the perfect location to walk everywhere. Breakfast was very good as well. The only thing missing in the room is a small refrigerator to put a few bottles of water to keep cold but that is certainly very minor. We would definitely stay here again and recommend to others.

Excellent hotel and Fantastic breakfast. Excellent location with Short walk to town and Matterhorn Express lift. Free buses available to both lifts. Close to walking trails where you can walk to 2 restaurants located on the mountain. Matterhorn Sports rental for skis, about 2 blocks away.
