Excellent stay at this hotel (2 nights in July). We were especially grateful for the aircon which is far from standard in UK hotels. Everything was of standard you would expect from a property like this. Staff were impressive and the room spacious, tasteful and clean. Will be back on our next visit to the city.

Wow true to the name Grand.. Had a Grand stay with my wife. What an absolute cracking breakfast and the room is well nice (Just needs a good dust In some areas). The staff are all warm and welcoming. The spa is fantastic , by far the best spa I've been to

We only had one night at The Grand but we have already decided next time - and there will be a next time - one night is not enough. The staff were all very polite and helpful and we were particularly grateful to the Doorman, Wayne, for his quality advise on local pubs and pork pies!

The hotel was in a perfect location right across from the wall and with an easy walk into the heart of the old town. The staff were incredibly personable and helpful and were sincere in asking about us. We ate all dinners at The Rise. The food was fabulous.

Great property. Very conveniently located 5 minutes walk away from the train station and 10 minutes walk from major destinations. Live music at the bar was a great surprise. All amenities you'd expect from an older establishment, everything in well working conditions, some upgrades may be necessary but mainly esthetics and not function. The staff are extremely polite and accommodating. I'd definately stay here again if ever back in York.
