Upon arrival we were advised that we had received a complimentary upgrade to a suite, which was lovely as we were visiting York for our wedding anniversary. Room was lovely and clean, the bathroom was huge and very clean. Hotel bar was very nice, lots of choice for drinks, lovely seating area with a great atmosphere. We also had breakfast great choices available, help your self tea and coffee and fruit juices. Novotel York is a great base for exploring the town, about 5-10 minute walk away, you can also walk alongside the river which is lovely. Would definitely recommend and we will be staying again

Our stay was comfortable overall. However, I was disappointed that there was nothing the hotel could do about the lack of a fridge in our Executive Room. We paid extra to upgrade, so we expected this basic amenity to be included. Unfortunately, we had no fridge for the entire stay, which meant we couldn’t keep our drinks cold—especially inconvenient given the warm weather. This was quite disappointing and took away from what would otherwise have been a pleasant stay.
