The location within downtown was great for our travel purposes. The exterior window shades made a difference during the heat wave. We were in a private unit with our own bathroom. Laundry services were pretty convenient. Staff were...not rude, but not overly welcoming either. Space was very clean and after 11am the restaurant could be accessed for remote work as long as you purchase something per hour (very reasonable).

The property has an excellent location - close to train station, restaurants and shopping. Staff were very welcoming and helpful. We loved the storage room and lockers to safely store our bags after check out. The room was very small and only had an interior window looking to a community area where people were sitting and doing some activities. For the price, I would expect towels and soap included and the bed made for the guests but we knew what we are paying so I can’t complain.

Amazing location right in the middle of everything yet completely quiet at night. No frill but comfortable size room with tall ceiling and huge windows with the view! Bring your own hair dryer though.

Good value/location for the Netherlands

Considering the prices of hotels/hostels in Utrecht and its location, its a pretty good deal. The rooms are barebone but clean and spacious enough (as far as the private ones go). I would stay there again, but keep in mind its no frills!

This hostel is the perfect place for a weekend in Utrecht. We were 2 friend with 3 kids under 4 years old and the personnel was extremely kind to us. The structure is well equipped to host kids, they have high chairs for breakfast and also baby cots upon request. Cannot recommend enough.

Stayokay Utrecht is part hostel with bunk beds, and part hotel with very basic rooms. Staff is nice and helpful. It is very centrally located on a busy square. Very noisy during the night if your room faces the square. They give free earplugs at the reception.

Enjoyable stay, uneven room temperature

This was a good value overnight stay for central Utrecht, and great to have the private bathroom facilities. The room only has floor radiator that you can control, but I found it would only heat the side of the room nearest to it and not the rest of the room towards the bathroom. It wasn't a terrible issue, but a little irritating to be so cold everytime you walked to and from the bathroom. Aside from that, there was a great view to the square from my room (#105) and a nice lounge area in the common space outside the room to work from or relax.

We enjoyed the stay, specifically because of how helpful the staff were. My friend even left her passport in the room after we checked out and the staff were willing to overnight ship it to our next location. They were communicative and helpful. It’s in a good central area and walkable to the Domtower The downside is that it did get noisy but usually people settled down around 11:00. We even heard families in the hallway. However, we mostly saw college students. Our room was on the backside of the building so we didn’t get the loudness from the streets which was nice.
