We stayed for our last 3 nights at Why House and thought it was very special. Henrietta was extremely welcoming and has organised her staff to look after guests in a warm but understated way. Nothing was ever too much trouble. We found it very easy to get chatting to other travellers and met some lovely people there. The property is a beautiful oasis where we could relax after the hustle and bustle of exploring Sri Lanka. We saw peacocks, monkeys and lizards visiting the lush gardens and really enjoyed our final day just relaxing by the pool where there was plenty of shade. The food was excellent and all served in an open pavilion unless you wanted to eat on your verandah for more seclusion. All in all we thought Why House was stunning, comfortable and friendly. We enjoyed meeting Henrietta and Lettie the dachshund and would definitely stay there again on our next trip to SL.

Why House is a wonderful place to stay in Sri Lanka. It's a beautiful oasis of calm - with a very warm welcome from Henrietta and all the staff and a beautiful setting. Our room was fantastic, perfect for our family with its upstairs area for the kids and beautiful mast bedroom and bathroom. The pool is a fantastic place to relax and swim - and when they switch on the lights at night it's truly magical. We had great food and they staff couldn't have been friendlier or more helpful in helping us with trips to Galle or our airport transfers (even packing us a breakfast for our early departure). Thank you to everyone for a wonderful end of holiday. We hope to see you again soon.

Wonderful stay

We loved our time at Why house. The food was so incredible. The room was perfect and the swimming pool divine that are free to talk to take it down to the beach and you can use the house tuktuk to take you to Galle for $15. We stayed in room eight part of you and Honestly it couldnt have been better. Henrietta and her team of staff are so warm and welcoming. (Oh and get a very reasonably priced delicious massage!!)

Fabulous!

We loved our 3 nights at Why House. The friendliness of the staff and the delicious food were real highlights. The grounds are beautiful and it is located really well for Galle and the beach. Henrietta was a marvellous host and we really enjoyed her company and the cookery demonstration that she organised. A fabulous place very much recommended.
