The hotel was located in the middle of nowhere. You could not drive a car, barely a moped, to the hotel. It was no signs so it was hard to find it. When we finally found it no one was in the "reception" (a roof and a chair..) no one was there. We had to call for them to come which took even more time. The room looked like the pictures but it smelled very bad and it was ants, spiders and other insects in the whole room and the bed. When we wanted to cancel our booking, because of our experience, he did not understand english. We asked him to call hotels.com to cancel the booking and he came back 40 minutes later and had not called them yet, instead we got another room. This whole experience took in total 3 hours and cost us the whole day since all tourist attractions close at 5pm.
The owner was great and picked us up at the main road. The hotel is back and cannot be accessed by car. Large room with separate area for wash and bathroom. Amazing porch and the owner provided fresh breakfast every morning. Relaxing and great place that is in walking distance of monkey forest but outside of all of the tourist traps. Highly recommend.

Inexpensive, at Ubud center, compatible service
This guest house will be a good deal if you know before what it offers and what it doesn't and set your expectation accordingly. First the positives. It is five minutes off an important street in the heart of Ubud. It can be reached via 5-10 minutes walk in some narrow lanes navigable by motor cycle (ojek) but not car. The guests stay amidst a beautiful garden. The bungalows have all amenities guests need, example free wifi at good speed inside the bungalow, air condition, hot shower, good lighting, etc. The bungalows have adjoining balconies where breakfast is served every morning, and breakfast is included in the room rate. The guest house is extremely inexpensive given the location and the amenities. There are however two important advantages. There is no staff at it for most of the day. The owner comes every morning, prepares breakfasts for the guests and leaves the property around 10:30 AM in the morning and doesn't return for the rest of the day. He leaves his phone number with the guests and responds when called, but sometimes of course he may not be reachable. When he is around, he is extremely nice and helpful. He brought me dinner the evening I checked in as I was too tired to navigate the lanes in the dark. He brought me lunch another day and left it in my room nicely covered as I wasn't around. He lent me a flashlight end umbrella of his own volition. But he isn't around always. One night toilet flush stopped working. I had to wait until morning.
I wanted some respite from Bali and even Ubud. This place was an ideal hermitage if you are looking for privacy and silence. I had some planning and thinking to do so the high speed wifi, distance from the main road and large air-con room with lots of natural light was a great environment for my needs.
Originally we had booked 3 nights and in the end stayed one more. The room is huge, a lot of space. The area is really quiet and private. Was a little hard to find it, but with google maps we handled it.
The owner is a nice man, always smiling and ready to help. One day we went out very early for a sunrise trekking (Mt. Batur) and when we came back, a great breakfast was waiting for us. And each day was a different menu (toasts, pancakes or omelette). Free coffee and tea all day long.
