Had a wonderful stay and we will absolutely be back to visit, and will recommend Laurel Valley Mountain Retreat to our East Tennessee visitors. The only issue we had was a slightly sticking keypad entry on arrival, but the staff responded quickly and once we figured it out, no more issues at all. It was a peaceful night, just what we needed after a long week. Tyler's breakfast was delicious! Can't wait to come back and stay longer.

The property is beautiful, serene and quiet. Breakfast was wonderful and the views just breathtaking. Definitely recommend this place for adults who want to get away from the hustle and bustle of life. Convenient driving distance to restaurants and The Great Smokey Mountain park.

Clean room, nice room, unique being not the run of the mill hotel. No staff at main lodge so that can be troubling if you need to speak with someone or have difficulties getting in to the lodge. Breakfast was good a bit different than regular hotel breakfasts.

The room was clean and check in instructions were easy to follow. Breakfast was delicious each day. Parking was fine but sometimes not enough space to park at the end of the day. Not too much they can do about that. The only thing that was lacking was not enough utensils/plates/bowls etc in the room. The view was amazing and the property provided a great deal of privacy. I would definitely recommmend this location and stay here again.

This mountain retreat could use some love. A simple thing like raking the gravel to fill in the potholes in the driveway would be nice. Upon our arrival, while we did see a window washer working, there is little apparent maintenance for the grounds around the retreat. The walkways are covered with branches, tree nuts and leaves, making them somewhat difficult to traverse. The bathroom in the Cliffside room was nice, clean and up to date, but the hair dryer was loud, noisy and ineffective! The breakfast, which is catered each morning, was tasty and it included eggs over easy, the way I like them, hot muffins, and some sweet baked cakes. We had difficulty with the door key pad on our first night. The keypad did not respond on our first touch. Upon entering certain numbers (0 in particular) the pad did not beep, so we had to press it 2-3 times. After multiple times, the code did not work and we were locked out. Note: There is no way of getting any assistance late at night, so we simply planned to sleep in the lobby, until finally the code worked! The next day, surprise, the code worked every time! All in all, this is “rustic boutique”!

Beautiful and clean room, VERY cozy, peaceful and just a gorgeous property! This is the best vacation my husband and I have had in a very long time! Bedding felt luxurious and the bathroom in the presidential suite was absolutely beautiful and again very luxurious. It was a 5 minute drive to our holiday party at dancing bear lodge, the property was isolated enough to feel like you were in the mountains but also close enough to do all sorts of things! We will definitely be back!!

Bear country room with a view.

The room was amazing and the view off of the balcony was breathtaking. Within the first hour of being there we encountered a moma bear and her two cubs. That was the cherry on top. We will definitely stay there again.
