This was by far the worst experience I have ever had with Expedia. I booked Mehri Suites for a work function, and from the moment I arrived, everything went wrong.
Upon arrival at the property, I was sent instructions by message on how to access the apartment. Once inside, I discovered that my room had no working lights, and the bathroom assigned to my room was separate and required a key. Unfortunately, the bathroom door was locked, and the key did not work.
I tried contacting the property multiple times by phone and text, with no response. The person staying in the other bedroom—who had a private bathroom—then informed me that he had originally been assigned my room and was already aware of the bathroom issue. He also confirmed that no one had come to fix the problem since his check-in.
After more than an hour without access to basic amenities such as a toilet or shower, I had no choice but to find alternative accommodations. I requested a refund for the room, as well as the return of my damage deposit, since the unit was uninhabitable. I also opened a support case with Expedia.
It has now been five days, and while my damage deposit has been returned, I still have not received a refund for the room itself. This situation is completely unacceptable, especially given the circumstances. I would not recommend this property or the lack of follow-up support provided.
