This hot spring resort was so charming and nice. The staff were all great. The location is very convenient, near many attractions in Toba and not very far from Ise Jingu. The dinner was also delicious.

It was really good experience visiting the Todaya. Right from the moment we arrive, every staff was super nice and extremely helpful! Hotel lobby has free drinks in the afternoon and there are so many selections from tea to juice to wine. The hotel was not busy and we get to go to all the private onsen. Buffet breakfast and dinner has lots of selection from japanese food to western food. Hotel room was large and fit our family of 4 very comfortably.

Great hotel to stay at in Toba. Location is close to the train station as well as other activities including the Mikimoto Pearl Island and the Toba Aquarium. Although the staff were mostly able to speak English, many of the signs were only in Japanese. This included the instructions on the toilet and the kettle. Google came to the rescue and translated whatever we needed. The restaurant staff were very helpful and even gave us a tour of the extensive buffet the first evening. The buffet food was delicious and plentiful. Our room was twice as big as we expected, which was a nice surprise! I wonder if we accidentally reserved a suite, which would certainly account for the high price. 🤔 There was a bedroom and separate living room, each with its own flat-screen television. The air-conditioning worked well, as did the remote control for the room lights, which provided good lighting. The bathroom was big, too, and like the living room it had windows looking out on the sea.

While the room was spacious and had a great view, we were disappointed to find that it did not come with Western-style beds, which was not clearly mentioned in the booking description. The hotel itself felt quite run-down, and unfortunately, our room was not very comfortable due to a strong urine odor in the bathroom that the staff did not address. Additionally, we were frustrated that our "Do Not Disturb" sign was ignored, and staff entered our room despite it being clearly displayed. The buffet was delicious, but we noticed some preferential treatment toward other guests, which left us feeling somewhat unwelcome as foreign guests. Overall, our stay did not meet our expectations.

I score this hotel in line with expectations - this is an excellent location if you want a day or two savouring a bit of onsen fun and relaxation the way that native Japanese would. Don’t expect up-scale luxury, but certainly I was very impressed that every convenience was provided within the rooms and around the hotel. The staff were excellent and very helpful. The atmosphere is bustling and at times a little boisterous. Particularly the evening buffet was quite ‘energetic’ with a distorting PA loudly announcing all the fresh dishes being set out and fish filleting demonstrations etc.. Dinner time was a sort of event. Plenty of choice at the buffet to eat - I was very satisfied. The hotel itself is large and sometimes bewilderingly complex in layout. I found it very interesting - like a grand bubble-era project, now slightly faded by time, but still full of interest. It took all of our two day visit to find every little interesting corner. ( I liked discovering the private onsen rooms and stretching out in my own private hot spring bath ) Oh, and there are welcome drinks from 3pm till 6 including wine juice and coffee, and when you leave there is a small free bus to the station ( even though the station is only about 300m away. In all - had a great time… just went with the flow and came away smiling.

The place was a much older establishment but was a very nice place. I like the fact the ferry was in walking distance and the train station was also easy accessible as well. I would recommend this place to stay in the Toba area…

バイキング料理がどれも美味しかった。特に夜は刺身、アップルパイ、朝はフレンチトーストが気に入った。 お風呂は野天風呂がよかった。 部屋は広くて清掃も行き届いていた。 館内のウォークラリーが、家族みんなで楽しめた。 また、利用したい。
